'Shearwater' a colossal new ugly apartment building at Warners Bay is offering a furniture package of $20,000 if you buy a unit.
Had coffee with an acquaintance who bought in this building and she told me there are a lot of units unsold in this over 100 apartment building... with another over 100 apartments 'Waters Edge' due to begin construction and in front of 'Shearwater' there are going to be a lot of unsold apartments in Warners Bay.
She also told of the usual problems, builder is broke, no repairs being done, her carpet was badly stained when she moved in and cant get is fixed etc. etc. Buyers were mostly older people who weren't savvy enough to 'look before you leap'. :(

This part of the cycle normally sees "new unit comes with a free car" adverts too - (about the same $20K value as your furniture pkge.

20K value probably equals under 10K in retail value. Ask them if there is any cash stashed in those sofas?

Yep and the 20k wasn’t included in the price of the over priced apartment anyway *insert face palm*.
    Valuers will love that

Thinking from another perspective - if the apartment is worth what it's selling for then the seller would not have to put in additional incentives to attract buyers, right? :)

Learning from past experience, I would definitely think twice before pulling the trigger when there are additional incentives attached.

    Cheers,
    David

Want to find out how genuine the offer is?
Ask for $20K off the final negotiated price!
You will be lucky if the “package” is worth $5K.
