just out of curiosity, do many out there get their new built homes independently inspected at certain stages of construction.... And if so whats the rough cost of an inspection
We are definitely going to get one. It’s roughly $450-500/per inspection, approx $2500 for whole construction
I was thinking more like frame and fitting stage for inspections I would also recommend a reputable builder who will most likely fix the defects ,than tarnish there reputation, that is what i found with Carlisle homes Some may disagree.
The building surveyor who issued the building permit undertakes mandatory inspections at various stages (eg before the concrete our, frame etc) That's part of their obligation/check. Your builder should be organising that. If you want something more, find another building surveyor and ask if they can give you a price to further inspect on your behalf
Cheers Yep I’m pretty happy with my builder Anx as you say a surveyor appears at each stage for sign off
If thats the case ,ie building surveyor checking each stage .How come there are so many cowboys in the building industry ,getting away with shoddy work and Phoenixing Case in point, Opal towers and Mascot towers Sydney
