    Hi All,

Was talking to a mate and he plans to build a granny flat on his block of land where there is old house. After granny flat gets built he plans on moving in there and then work on demolishing existing house and building a new house.

Can it be done in that order? Would council allow you to have just granny flat on the block for a period of time? I dont see any issues with it but just wanted to see what the experts say about it?

    Cheers

Shouldn't be an issue at all. It has to be seen as the secondary dwelling (so the old house remains until you have a da lodged for the replacement primary dwelling).

Review the LEP if there are any specific requirements.
