Would you use a B&P contractor without a thermal camera?

Just wondering when getting a Building and Pest inspection how important is the use of a thermal camera for detecting termites?

How much extra benefit is there over a moisture meter?

Is it necessary to know the names, sex and quantity of each of the termites or whether you're clear?

Some termites might like the probing...

I've only used this service when live termites were present in a wall and I needed to know the extent of the damage.
Nothing wrong with using this, it just might be a little bit more expensive.

Bloody wrong one checked and hit submit, I don't care so long as it's done properly. If the inspection is done properly then what would you expect to see in a thermal test?

In saying that though it was really cool with the pest inspector at my house the other day was testing the temp of my raspberry pi under load :)
