land if 2 meter slope and build layout has steps in the middle of the house to connect first half and second half. What are all the factors to consider from builder ? Structural guarantee is jsut 5-6 years , so I am just bit concerned about that ? Please advise what are all the points to be verified like method of construction or stilts or retaining walls ?
Sounds like you need to talk to your architect. This is very much a "How long is s piece of string" question Options include slab or piers ... depends on your soil type ... depends on the degree of your slope ... depends on your building materials ... depends on your house design/layout ...
Hi, 2 metres of slope over what distance? Slab should be designed by a structural engineer in accordance with AS2870 so I'm not sure what the concern is. Design will be certified and the formwork will be inspected by engineer and certifier prior to pour. It's normal for houses to step but is avoided because of the fact there's a step and also additional construction costs. Can you avoid a step by leveling the lot with retaining walls at or near the boundaries? Can you use things such as integrated retaining walls or edge beams on the slab to avoid the step?
