    Hi,

I need a kitchen re-tiled (tiles removed and new ones laid, tile splashback - adding a couple of tiles) as well as repair some loose tiles on the front and back verandahs. My PM has been contacting tilers/tradies for quotes but most haven't shown to quote. We have one quote which is the GDP of a small country. She is continuing to contact people but time is moving so I was hoping for some recommendations?

Likewise, the rear verandah has an old steel railing and the attaching mounts have rusted so it will need to be replaced most likely, I have been told the posts are fine and structurally sound. Does anyone have any contacts that could fix or put in a new railing? For a replacement, most likely looking at wire-strung type with a wooden handrail.

Property is in southern Brisbane (Algester).

    Thanks!

    Kassy

Marc from Quality Tiling has done tiling in living room in my IP, happy with quality, price and reliability.

Trying to get a tradie to turn up to give a quote on anything in Brisbane appears to be a problem at present - contacted 4 different businesses about a full gutter replacement, and only had 1 get back in touch; have contacted 3 companies that specialise in glass pool fencing installation and repairs to get some work done, and am yet to have anyone to get in touch.

For some small maintenance work I had done only 18 months ago (including a tile splash back), I used John from Home Handyworx (someone else recommended him) - he was great (www.homehandyworx.com.au), and he's local to your area, too.

@KayTea are you looking to install a glass pool fence, or repair?

Just repair - one of the gate hinges has been bent out of shape (by another tradie), and now the gate won't self-close properly. We need a new hinge installed.

Was going to try and do it ourselves, but can't seem to find the part (tried Bunnings), so we're hoping a pro will have (or be able to source) the correct one, to match the other one (they're less than 2 years old).

    Hi all!

    Thank you for the recommendations!

@KayTea I had the gutter and down pipes replaced in the same house last quarter lastyear by Chubbs Guttering. They also repointed the garage roof. They were very reasonably priced and the result looks great!

    Thanks again!

Bummer. I know the guy who did our pool fence told us he doesn't do repairs.

It's a glass fence, and Stratco does the metal stuff, so it's unlikely (but I'm happy to take a look at anything) - thanks @DaveM

Stratco do glass fencing, and have a lot bigger fencing fixtures range than Bunnings
