    Looks very nice!
for us, gas is a must. Induction looks beautiful, trendy and professional but after a long day, I want to cook something quick!

I've never used induction before but many people say it gets hot very fast. Do you (or others) have any experience with induction systems?

I've got induction. Mine has 1-9 heat and then a boost level above that. The boost is insane - it's like wok full on 3000% boil. Handy if you want something to heat up super quick. I would say it's as responsive as gas for me and a heck of a lot easier to clean.
The one downside is it gets confused if you take the pan off, so say you want to flip a pancake it notices you took it off but then turns back on when you put it down. I can't flip pancakes but my DH can.

Sounds good to me. Agent will just have to sell it if anyone makes a noise about it, or direct them to buy lot 4 :D

Quick update: Most of the cladiding is done. Sheeting to continue in lot 5 and start the fixout in lot 4. Waterproofing of the bathrooms, cabinets and tiling in the coming weeks. So far havent had any hold ups yet so hopefully it will stay on schedule.

Induction is waaaaay quicker than gas. Immediate temperature change too. Have induction in our new place and would never go back to gas. So much easier to clean too.

We had issues with getting gas to our townhouses. Mains gas was problematic (cannot recall details now). We initially decided to go with induction but two trusted local agents told us to go with gas if at all possible.

We have instant gas HWS at home and gas cooking. Gas used to be cheap but not so these days.

But the agents tell us many people still want gas cooking (especially the target market for our townhouses).

So, with us being told by the gas supplier that the pressure in the street just will not support instant HWS (true or not?), we've gone with electric HWS and chosen to use refillable bottles for gas cooktops.

This comes at a cost of about $1k per townhouse but means future buyers can swap out the cooktops for induction. If we didn't put in the gas lines now they couldn't swap out from induction to gas.

Hopefully we've not wasted money on installing gas lines to the kitchen. I think it is a workable compromise for the extra $1k per townhouse.

We will redo our kitchen in a year or so and I'm still unsure whether to stick with gas or go induction myself. Cleaning a gas hob is a PITA.

Something to note is that induction hotplates do use more power so it's requirements sometimes do require a slight upgrade to the way the electrical system to the house has been designed and provisioned.
@Sackie was there any additional costs for you to have the induction on one side?

No, I was just given an update and some options, and induction was by far the cheapest. I am actually getting money back for a variation I paid for a gas line on that lot. No extra for any electrical upgrades.

I'll let you know the feedback from my sales. If mine don't get negative feedback then I doubt yours would.

I am learning a lot from this post
I always thought induction is not wok friendly (we do a lot of stir fry, round based wok..)

@samiam if you can't get your head around a flat based wok on induction then Electrolux make a special ring you can put on your induction hotplate that allows you to tilt and turn like you may have been taught.
    Electrolux E:Motion Wok & Trivet

There probably are others available but this is one that I know about.

You should buy one and put it in the staging so that the REA can say " look at this amazingly easy to clean induction cooktop with wok ring. All the benefits of gas but so much easier to clean "
