Exactly, we want much more construction of major projects, just not more crappy units

That block is "almost" unable to lose the views. The living room looks between the two houses opposite and I'd remove it (or slide it further up the back of the block) and build (or slide to) higher ground to make the view even better.

I'd get a Qld conveyancer or solicitor.

We used new south lawyers in parramatta. They were pretty good

I went to an auction this afternoon.

I am familiar with the suburb but not an expert. I thought the property would go for $800 to 850K.

I was talking to another who know the suburb better than me. They said $900K+; anything over $1M would be a great number.

First bid was $800K. I thought It was an aggressive bid and I was on the money.

It became a shootout between two bidders. Highest bid was $1.4M.

It was passed in. I couldn’t believe it. Apparently the current owners want $1.6M.

Imagine what is going to happen when Brisbane starts booming ;).

Brisbane suburb, south of the river.

More details once I hear it is sold.

Just out of curiosity why the secrecy ? are you thinking of making a play to buy the property in question?

Just my internet policy. I am happy to write about my “business” on PC but, when I write about others’ business, I don’t publish the specifics unless I have their permission.

    Nah.

Why do you think $5million is too much? Do you have some comparative sales you are looking at? Looks like the house itself is high and dry on the flood map (some flooding of part of the block closer to the river. I don't have $5million to spend on a house but this one looks pretty sweet to me :)

I respect that mate however it's a public auction and any of us could have attended and observed what happened . Also the property is no doubt advertised on realestate.com etc so it's not like anything you would be telling us is confidential . Anyway all good your entitled to do whatever you're comfortable with.

Is it a newish high spec build or on a massive block?

The folks who missed syd and melb ( don't know how you could miss that tbh was as clear as day) would then have missed Brissy too :p They continue to sit on the fence and read economic forecasts of doom and gloom and then will miss Perth too .

Hahahaha - I would personally know many people that would be in this boat. Procrastination and analysis paralysis can kill ones investment journey.

Massive block. Could easily split into 4 if one was so inclined :D.

You don't need to sign any original documents to buy property in QLD. Better off using a QLD solicitor who does it everyday.
