I am absolutely looking forward to it and I'm very busy lobbying as much as possible to ensure that it is electric. Its 2017.
I don't want more diesel or gas buses on the road we don't want to build in redundancy

Last I heard it has been extended past 8 mile plains to Springwood. Definitely looking forward to it. Long overdue!

Isn't it a train metro? which I assume should be electric.
Or have I missed something ?

Edit : just found this explanation -
The expanded project will introduce a new fleet of 60 metro vehicles, each with capacity for up to 150 people, that can use the busway alongside other bus services.

As per current plans shared by BCC, its limited to Eight mile plains.

    • Metro 1 - Eight Mile Plains busway station to Roma Street busway station
    • Metro 2 - RBWH busway station to UQ Lakes busway station.

I'm old fashioned but is that trains / trams so just train / tram tracks built on the road?

Wonder if they will finish it before China builds a few more cities.

I was of the same understanding but reading @Whitecat's comments and reading more into it, it seems to be just new updated buses or something.
    Not sure.
In the document it just says "metro vehicles"

Yes you have missed a lot
Council did the renders with what looked like a train. But then they moved towards long buses which looked like trains.
    Its buses. Not rail.

Must be electric or building in redundancy

    An expensive one.

They could have called it the tube - that might have got even more brownie points for the lord mayor.

the long buses remove the need for queues (the payment system will be made similar to the railway stations)

but I imagine double deckers can also add charm to the city
