Happy to have a meetup or 2 in the next few days for everybody in Brissie. Proposed locations... a pub in Logan council And/or at the British Indian Restaurant Birkdale, The Spice Avenue Balti Restaurant. To cater for the majority, i'm thinking a weekday evening from 6pm or if its weekend then probably an afternoon start, say from 4/5pmish but i'm flexible. Apologies I am limited to 10 responses so if you want to suggest elsewhere, please go right ahead. Choose as many options as you wish. Great idea Gockie For us inner city Brisbanites we aren't used to travelling long distances you know, 20 mins is about the limit. Logan, you need to take a packed lunch to go that far out. In all seriousness weekdays at that time you would put off anyone who was traveling from close to the city or the otherside of the city. The traffic going in those directions at that time of the day is horrendous. On a weekend you would be in the 20min limit. We have previously done the Norman hotel at Woolloongabba when ChindOnly was organising them. I am a big fan of the Bent Elbow at Stones Corner too, food is great and nice craft beer, wines & ciders. Both are 5mins from city but you aren't paying city prices. Saying that that Jackpot noodle on Albert st is licensed, extremely affordable and down the botanic gardens end where there is heaps of meter parking. The Birkdale place does have large round tables with a lazy susan in the middle so is very good for meeting up. Even on the weekend Birkdale and Logan might write off people who would come from the otherside of town.
