@big max - a large movement off a low base is still insignificant.

We're up 5% in Manly West (320k from 305k). Bigger jumps last year (305k from 275k) and the year before (275k from 250k).

Ours has gone up over 20%! We should be happy, not that we can sell it now. I heard of people trying to dispute. Anyone has first hand experience please?
    We are in the Southside.

Actually it's very significant if you bought at the low base (which is when you should have bought ...)

Damn right :) I think we are looking at 15%pa gains each year for next year for certain types of property. Particularly freestanding houses in mermaid, Nobbys, mermaid waters and Broadbeach waters. Maybe also Burleigh Miami and Palm Beach ...

It's odd that your council does it every year.

It is the OSR assigning values, not the councils. We get a new valuation every year AFAIK.

Hmm, if it's for the whole state, I don't think I get them every year for houses outside of Brisbane. Maybe I do...

Actually dollar wise it depends on how much you invested right? 1m whether invested in Sydney or Melb or Gold Coast is exactly the same when calculating a % gain ...
