True though. And I want to see Brisbane do well, but doubling in 11 years is still slow/not extraordinary by recent Sydney house price growth standards. Pick any Sydney suburb and I'll give you a graph...

the past is now irrelevant , I’m more interested in a prediction of the next 11 years than a graph of the last 11

I live and work in Sydney and I am equally invested in both cities. Older houses in established Sydney suburbs (mainly the desirable ones) have done really well. I can't say the same for entire Sydney.

However, I believe the equation started changing just before Covid and now some Brisbane post codes such as 4152 have grown as much as blue chip parts of Sydney in past 2-3 years if not more.

More importantly, perceptions around Brisbane market are fast changing as all those investor hurt stories are being replaced with investor success stories from people like @Sackie and others on this forum.

The hype was already built, the Olympics will bring a frenzy, but there is still a long way before true value of Brisbane houses is reached in terms of market prices so there is all the more reason to forget Sydney and enjoy the Brisbane ride for next few years!

It is silly to compare Brisbane to Sydney.
So have many older people that I speak to say this also.
Like I have been saying for the last 10 years.Brisbane is about 15 years behind Sydney in development. It is slowly but surely improving over the last 10 years.
I know a lot is riding on this from the Qld government. Hopefully the Olympic is the cure to close the gap.

I believe there is no comparison between Brisbane and Sydney. I love living in Brisbane, and love visiting Sydney, but they are chalk and cheese.

That's been the way since I became "property aware" in 1975 and hasn't changed in all that time, and I believe it is unlikely to ever change.

    Shocking isn't it.

The busways will improve this. The empty buses will be hidden underground

Sydney offers a great lifestyle for the 5% off Sydneysiders not spending most of their lives working long hours and doing long commutes just to pay off that mortgage or high rents.

It’s great by large city standards but it’s still a rat race city.

There is a part of me that is very scared that this Brisbane boom will destroy many of the things that make it an awesome place to live…
