QLD Brisbane city meetup

Based on feedback from RPI:

Looking to have a Brisbane meetup. )

Location options based on RPI's feedback are:
*Norman hotel at Woolloongabba
*Bent Elbow at Stones Corner
*Jackpot Noodle on Albert st
*The English Indian place at Birkdale (probably too far out for the majority)

Friday or Saturday are best for me, and southside locations would be my preference (Norman Hotel or Bent Elbow)

 

Not just as yet but I've just spent the afternoon at the Gold Coast (away from the high rise). Nice and chilled atmosphere with perfect weather. More than 21 degrees in mid winter... beautiful sunshine.... perfect.
Also I thought summers would be hotter here than my place in Sydney but according to the BoM charts that turns out to be incorrect. The weather where i'm buying is just less extreme than my Sydney home.

 

Keen, haven't had a good steak in awhile so the Norman is my vote.

 

Thanks for all your responses PC'ers. So in the lead we have Bent Corner on either Friday night or Saturday night....

Just a heads up if by midday Thursday it's still a draw on votes for the night of the week my executive decision will be to make it Friday (because that suits me better).

Saturday may be ideal as I believe there may be a few from Syd/Melb travelling up looking for properties on weekends who might like to join as well

We normally meet at the Norman Hotel. Great steaks and you can easily get a table.
Have had about three meet-ups there.

 

Based on the votes it will be at Bent Elbow, on the evening of Saturday 1st.

I was definitely in on Friday night. Most likely in on Saturday night but Saturday night and Sunday night I don't have control of the calendar and it doesn't go into my calendar. Will need to check her calendar in the morning to see but will be very keen. Booking a table is a great idea if people want food.

the pizzas, chips and chicken wings are great for cheap eats and shared food. Andrew Allen and I had lunch there last week and 2 x different steaks were very well received. So was the beer actually.

Timing is bad for me I'll be in town early Sept and mid Nov. While I was on the hunt and doing renovations I travelled there like 10-15 times but that's all slowed now.

 

For all those people that come looking on the inner southside of Brisbane and need a rest and excellent food during your time looking at property try this place, Chef Ben O’Donoghue from a few media cook show cooks there ,I was watching this Gentleman yesterday cooking us breakfast yesterday and the skill and class of this place and the numbers coming in is stunning and price wise for value is excellent..imho..

Cool stuff. Well, truth to be told, I'd prefer Friday night myself since my partner is flying up from Sydney on Saturday and only staying the one night. If you have read any of my threads here or on SS he wont want to be hanging around property investors all night... Since the preference difference is only 1 person between Saturday and Friday night, can I change it to Friday night without upsetting anybody?

Hi everybody,
Based on the poll results the meetup will be Friday night, 6.30pm at Bent Elbow. It will be great to meet with everybody. I'll try to call for a table reservation under the name Propertychat.

 

Table is booked under the name PropertyChat for tomorrow night. Unfortunately I could only get 7.30pm, not 6.30pm as hoped, but we are welcome to have a drinks or a seat at the bar beforehand.
