    Hi All,
    I’m going to buy the first home for my young family, budget is under 800K.
    As my little boy is just 6 months, I’d like to see some suburbs with good cc and primary school ( doesn’t matter private or public).
    I hope the suburb has many young families as wwll so we can make some friends.
    Hope the house is in good condition so we can move it without any reno.

    any good suburbs to recommend?
    Thank you.

    It would help if we know where you work and how you commute ie is a train station important to you or do you drive, access to airport, hospitals?

    What size house do you prefer, what style?

    Family-friendly suburbs near where I live - North Lakes and Mango Hill, Bald Hills, Albany Creek and Eatons Hill

    Ferny Hills / Grove, station access, decent local schools, shops and amenities, not too far from the City.

    As others have said it depends on where you are going to work etc.

    Thanks Angel, now I work from home to look after the baby. Around one or two years later, would work near Springwood.
    I’d like to buy a typical 4beds house. 180ish.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi @Lulu9900 Springwood - then forget my comments, these suburbs are all northside! I cant help you with southside but plenty of my colleagues will be happy to help.

    I do know that pretty much all state schools in Brisbane LGA are excellent. The further out you go, that is where the quality of state schools can diminish. Some, not all - plenty are still really good. There is a big push to clean up the ones with bad reputations but I cannot possibly know the details of individual schools.

    As above if you work in Springwood and you are going to be there for a while then buy into Logan suburbs. Springwood itself is in Logan.

    For your budget you can probably squeeze into the premium suburbs

    * Rochedale South
    * Daisy Hill
    * Shailer Park
    * Tanah Merah

    Isn't there a great primary school near Daisy Hill, ( kimberley) and Robertson near 8 mile Plains and Springwood, lots of options in Rochedale South. Schools are in Rochedale, very close to Rochedale South.

    Things are changing big time.

    Marsden was scooll of the year!!

    Yep. Marsden State High named Australia's secondary school of the year and a finalist amongst 8 or 9 categories for best school which I read a while back. Supposedly their Principal is also Australia's top public high school principal.

    This school is actually right on the border of Marsden, Crestmead and Waterford West. All those suburbs would be within the catchment area. Possibly a big contributing factor why these suburbs have exploded in popularity as well with families and FHBs.

    Oh I thought you were implying negative things about 8 mile Plains. I remember the caravan park there. Was OK.

    Have I misunderstood and gone off half cocked? I do that sometimes......

    Na I take the opportunity to take the **** on everyone and anyone. I love Logan. I love BCC. It's all stupid ass invisible boundaries. I live in NSW so I know all about stupid people who are too far up their own asses. When I joke on this **** it's more taking the **** at people who draw the lines, not people who live on the other side of those lines.

    In Logan we have TRENCHES, not lines.

    The boundary does make our rates cheaper BTW. AND we don't have to cough up to keep QUU in the black. Good value rates and water.

    And as the big sign on B'desert road says. Culture starts here! Logan!!

    These suburbs are great - it's a nice little pocket backing on to some beautiful nature reserves (so limited stock = CG), good schools (private and public), and also seconds to the highway where you're 20mins to BNE CBD and 40mins to surf beaches. Plus, only minutes away from IKEA Springwood :)
