Totally depends on the context and colour scheme... I've seen some REALLY bad 'feature' doors where they weren't warranted. Across the road from my Dad in Ipswich, in a bland new-build same-same-same investor-spec neighbourhood, someone decided to specify their 'cheap and cheerful' front door on an otherwise bland house in bright red... and it's AWFUL.

I think something with a lot of character like a high end terrace home warrants something cool like a bright door, just as long as you're confident that the colour combinations work. The combination you originally posted looks amazing...!

I LOVE the colour but I'm really torn on how it looks there. I think it'll really pop nicely in a professional photo though.

P.S. Can you paint the green pipework and box in black?

I was imagining it would be on a rendered terrace not a brick terrace. The brick really distracts the eye from how the door stands out but I still like it

I'm getting the timber piece on the balcony painted monument as I think that is distracting. Unfortunately the green belongs to the terrace next door :(

Bloody neighbours with no taste :p

Any plans for the sill under the window? I'm wondering if that should be monument too?

I like different greens together. Why not add a pot plant too? It looks awesome with the bricks and the monument.
I used a similar colour to paint my grandmother's old side board. It was called Jiminy and was a best seller in the 90's. Everyone loves it.

I love the colour but agree there's something not quite right - it's probably the down pipes, I think. It maybe just needs to be styled, @Tom Rivera is right in that the pro photos will look better without the motorbike and bins. :)
Completely agree - it's crying out for a nice pot plant out the front. I think styling will make all the difference - and if you can put a nice big tree in front of the ugly neighbours box, so much the better!

Yeah true there's heaps of random stuff in the pic. Its tenanted now (from first open while it was still incomplete) but the tenants want to put some pots in so I'll put up more pics once its done. Unfortunately all the bins have to be in the street too.

I ended up with a couple and 2 kids on a 12 month lease, the least expected outcome! Rent-wise it would be about the same as airbnb after expenses. Pros: regular income, no need to furnish, no bills, no turnover, looks after the house. Cons: none
