Brick and Mortar Damage - Apartment

    The apartment block of my IP has mortar damage in at the water/salt line all the way around the building. Mostly only 1-2cm, but in some spots 5-6cm or more of the mortar has been removed. Has anyone dealt with this before, how expensive or costly is it do get the bricks repointed? And how bad does it need to get before it has to be repaired? The other owners seem to think it can be left for another time
