Based on current numbers ALP cannot win enough seats to form government.

LNP is only party who can form government whether they form majority or minority depends on pre poll voting results.

Wow. What a huge failure of news polls.

    Cheers

I don't think counting has hardly even started here in WA. It may well be decided without us.

Now, now... if QLD gets DST you'll upset the cows and we won't get any milk. They are very sensitive to the "time" of day (apparently ;-) ).

I guess the takeaway is to not base a campaign that ****s with housing or people’s wealth. Was a little morbidly curious how 25% CGT and NG would open up some bargain buys in 2020.

As I said a few days ago.
I think the LNP might just Cross the line.
Most had a laugh and said ALP will win and bookies have alp almost odds on

Campaign that is based on poor policy and spending endless amounts of money and messing with existing tax policies don't go down well

Trying to appease all vocal minorities will not get you into power.

It's probably the recent bad publicity with kids held in watchhouses for adults combined with the longer standing Adani mine issue that's given the LNP a boost, especially in QLD there's a lot of people not happy with it. Plus the massive UAP spend managed to take away some labor votes as well.

But it didn't - ALP grandfathered pretty much everything. CGT discounts, franking credit refunds and retirees not paying taxes like the rest of the population are all bad policies.

what was poor policy? Trying to tighten up CGT (no discount should be applied afaic) and franking credits - both are widely seen as terrible policy decision by the LNP by independent economist. The only people that don't are those that benefit from them at the expense of the Australian tax payer.

Grandfathering doesnt mean no impact. It affects who the next buyer of my investment property will be as they won't be eligible for NG and 50% CGT.

    Franking credits=
You own a business it pays tax at say 30%

The business paid the tax already and you took the profit.

Tax paid higher /lower than you marginal tax rate .

You claim the difference between tax the business paid and your correct tax rate at your income.

If you are In a higher tax bracket you pay ATO the difference if you are in a lower tax bracket ATO pays you the difference.

    What's not fare?

ASPIRATION is not all about personal wealth but somehow the LNP have made their base think it is. It's greed when you have to stomp on future generations.
