I think we need to pick the brains of all the gurus in this forum and write our own book!! Amongst the many great minds in here and almost endless experience we would trump anyone!

I liked the Margaret Lomas' books, '20 Must ask questions' and 'how to achieve property success.'

Recently read "The armchair guide to property investing" by Ben Kingsley/Bryce Holdaway and thought that was really good too

"Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill is another classic on mindsets towards money and how to practically generate it.

I have a pdf copy if anyone is interested.

Just purchased "Like a Virgin" Secrets they wont teach you at business school
Will post if there are any gems.

Its a bestseller, first book I have read for a while.

I read his biography years ago which was fascinating, once again a best seller.

Branson was asked in the book
    Best Country he ever visited?

    Answer:
Tough call, but probably Australia I just love the Aussies' zest for life - a wonderful vibrant country

Everyone I know personally who has created massive wealth, embodies most of his philosophy. All depends how successful you wanna be imo.

One of my favourite quotes from the book:

"The words, opinions, and comments of others are constantly taking their toll on each of us. Subtly, the conversations of gloom, despair, complaining, condemning, and criticizing are forming our temporary moods and our permanent personality and character. As a wise man once said, “A sour face does not come as an accident. It is the result of sour thoughts.”

Not a property specific read, but I really bought into the messages in Tim Ferriss' Four Hour Workweek. The concept of lifestyle design is one that resonates with me. And property is my chosen path to help achieve my desired lifestyle.

And getting a bit off topic, I've also used his slow carb diet (as listed in Four Hour Body book) to shed a fair wack of body fat.

I would recommend very low carb - or better yet - zero carb diet.

With regard to Trass, it seems he should have concentrated more on the other side of the property cycle.

Or read his countryman's book "The Day The Bubble Bursts: How to Profit from the Coming Property Slump". That was written by Olly Newland in 2004.

I like to read how they crunch numbers, less on their words. It all comes down in numbers. Some numbers may be solid. Some may be off chance.

Has anyone read a standout book for analysing potential sites that will achieve capital growth?

"Property Finance made simple" by Konrad Bobilak has really helped me. It's based on Australia Property only and Quite recent. 2015. Has alot of information on Australia property investing, banks, Brokers, buying, types of loans, the Aus Market also including formulas for number crunching and how to build your portfolio. Also "Think and Grow rich" put me in a good mindset to start off my journey.

    Cheers

    Shan.
