Konrad's books are good. He's a smart guy with his finger on the pulse via his daily dealings in property. No nonsense relevant info.

In the old days, before everyone had all the answers on the interwebby, I read Jan Somers and Steve McKnight. 2 different approaches- McKnight was saying buy lots of slightly positive geared property and live on the incremental income. Very smart man. Jan Somers though was life changing. The message was basically, look, to be comfortable, you need a paid off PPOR and a small number of average houses. Margaret Lomas - buy average houses where working families like to live. Michael Yardney, buy quality close to CBD and use leverage.

I took a gold nugget of info from each and muddled through my own path, there is no one right answer.
