Bond Claim letters increased to 31 days :(

As if the timeframe wasn't long enough already, SA Govt have extended it, letter from them below:


Notice of claim letter - response timeframe increased to 31 calendar days

When a landlord/agent/proprietor/park operator or tenant/resident claims all or part of a bond
without the other party’s consent, Consumer and Business Services (CBS) will send a letter of
claim to the other party, giving them the opportunity to dispute the claim.

The current timeframe given to respond to the letter of claim is seventeen (17) calendar days.
From 18 April 2016 this timeframe will increase to thirty-one (31) calendar days to take into
account the recent Australia Post letter service changes and ensure the time required by
legislation is given.

 

How will this affect existing claims

 

Postage of standard letters only increased by 2 days and they try to justify a 14 day increase still?

If time was a problem, they could pay 50c extra for priority service which would be the same delivery time as before.

 

You expect state govt to have logic?

What timeframe do you guys have over there?

14 days and it hasn't changed.
