Just wondering what they call the boiling tap you see at many workplaces You know the tap with hot and cold water ? Does it use much electrcity ? Can it be easily installed ? I could do without my hotwater jug that way Also add value to the house
You can buy an awful lot of these for the price it would cost you to install. http://www.kmart.com.au/product/1.7l-cordless-kettle/153805 $7.50 Unless you are in a share-house or have a large family, I don't think it would be worth the cost just to get a little convenience.
That's the kettle I have. So far I have found they last longer than an $80 sunbeam. Hot/cold filtered water is expensive. The cheapest I could find on appliancesonline is $1,835. Appliances Online
Billie is one brand, Ziptap is another, they have payment plans.. not cheap. Payment Plans | Zip Water Yes. Yes. You're running a kettle on and off 24/7, and a fridge too if you get the water chiller feature. If they alternated hot/cold operation, your power bill would probably cop an extra $4-5/day. Plus maintenance/filters etc. Yes. By a licensed plumber and electrician. You could, but you'll take up a lot of room under the sink with the heat exchanger units.. and you'll likely need a vent in the cabinets to prevent overheating. You could fit a whole lot of kettles in that space.. Unlikely. Maybe a selling point, but not a value add. Cheaper option for hot water on demand is a hot water urn. They still take up space on your bench-top though.
