I operate a couple of larger share/boarding houses. The only one I could find is Terry Sheer. I have a separate policy for each tenancy room. I then nominate one of those policies to cover all the common areas as well.

I also tried finding something through brokers and they struggled to find anything, with only one pointing me to Terry Sheer as well (Who I had already found independently).

From memory, for a 7 bedroom house (in Adelaide), I am paying around $3k/year total.

I have also had to make a couple of claims against these policies, and they have always been good to deal with.

(I have no affiliation with Terry Sheer).

MGA insurance brokers. 07 5432 2200. They have several different insurers all rooming accom specific. I talk to Karen. If you can get tenants on 3+ month leases you can save big dollars. Should cost less than $4k.

    hi
I was just wanting to see how your share/boarding houses were doing? I am going to be starting one in Brisbane in the very near future and I would love to ask a couple questions if that is ok?
can you please let me know if that is ok?
    thanks
