Just wondering, does anybody know of any quiet, stylish and high quality bladeless fans (like the Dyson) but aren't as expensive? I'd like multiple.

    Air filtering is a bonus.

I have normal portable bladed fans but the blades get dusty (First world problem I know).

I've got a Dyson fan/heater & it's great.... the rest are imitations. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

You can buy tower fans, even some that mist for a bit over a hundred dollars... they're ok. Have one of them too. Got it from Big W if I recall right.

@Gockie, send a PM to @fullylucky, he'd know ;) @datto would get you some cheap (if you know what I mean) and @DaveM would want you to pick them up from Adelaide.

How's the noise level? Fridays going to be 38°C or so here in Parramatta. I'm feeling really hot right now, I reckon the aircons not working.

Seeings as we're going to be living in the new build garage for a while - starting in January - I have my eye on a Dyson misting fan. I've also decided not to put ceiling fans in the living areas although will make electrical provision, in case I'm wrong - 3m ceilings - super insulated house - and ceiling fans are god ugly. Thought might just stick to a couple of Dysons that can be put away in the laundry cupboard for 10 months of the year

I understand the newer models are a lot quieter than the older ones, not sure if they do a better job cooling.. We bought one a few years ago and it's too noisy to sleep next to and it won't cool you down on a 30+ day.

I'd recommend having a close inspection in a shop first.. don't be suckered in by their $exy looks like I was :p

i have an older model and agree they are not much quieter than other fans.
    they do look fancy though.

maybe think about putting the 600 bucks towards an air cond unit

My wife has severe hayfever which is really impacting her life. Antihistamines only go so far- I'm looking at the Dyson Pure- the hot and cold model to give a bit of heating in the winter as well.

I got one via my credit card points and ended up selling it. It was no better than a $15 cheapie from Bunnings in my opinion. Best thing is that it stayed cleaner than a bladed fan. But I was a bit disappointed to be honest.

It didn't change anything much for her. It's going back.

Last night one of our Tower Fan (bought from Aldi in 2015) died and looking into this, found this thread.

Myer has stocktake dale so Dyson is on promotion but when I looked @ productreview website- people aren't impressed with Dyson for the price vs product they offer.

@Gockie - what did you ended up buying?

I am looking at this now but cant find much info
