image.jpg At the Perth meet up recently I was telling @Perthguy about the wall I was about to paint black.

He wasn't convinced so thought I would post pics :)

    Voting buttons?

Looks good, but I think a white / light colour would look better - but I'm just boring. :)

Nice I like the wooden set-up to go with the black background, its a rather comfortable colour scheme. Probably helps that black doesnt get visibly dirty quicky too

It was light before but it was a bit to normal. I'm happy with it - just need a big green plant to put in front of it now!

I like it too, fashionable compared to the light colour

    Tick from me!

Black is shyed away from as it's not white:p but you can do some cool things with it! Give different depth to a room and draw attention to paintings/features. ...I'm no expert but it's cool for such a daunting colour. The colour guru's will be able to explain it better

That's exactly the look we're going for. We haven't done much to the kitchen yet but this is it so far - it's a fine line between cafe and bogan wth the bottles up there, but it's a conversation starter so we like it. Some of the labels are works of art in themselves.

I love it Jess, but we also have made some "brave" choices. Our living and dining rooms are deep brown and almost completely covered by framed prints. People probably love it or hate it, but we love it, and that is all that really matters.

If we had to live in these rooms day and night, we'd probably paint them a light colour, but they are very much "evening" rooms and we love the drama of the dark paint, old frames and lamps.

Without seeing the whole house, the two photos look like different styles to me. They both look great, but I think the Kitchen looks very "freo" and bohemian as compared to the black which is modern and funky.

    Nice job!

Does it also act as a blackboard? I like the look. Different.

I know the floor is horrendous. But - fixing it will require moving everything out which I need a bit more mental preparation for!!
