    also today was the ann . of the acquistion of the 5th unlisted LIC/investment portfolio ( funded by issuing new shares ) and the expressed desire to do more of these .

    assuming each of these acquisitions was done at close to NTA value , i don't really see the logic ( unless it is a larger share holder base and possibly more DRP participation )

    Culbert has been portfolio manager for a couple of years.

    They pay NTA. They are increasing FUM. Fees and liquidity flow from that.

    buying ( possibly ) near the top of the market ??

    as a stockpicker i concede there is usually a genuine bargain somewhere , but wouldn't one assume over 50% of the acquired portfolio is at 'full value '

    without seeing the composition of the portfolios acquired ( not that they are liable to change the BKI portfolio weithing much ).

    certainly an intriguing strategy even compared to the 'fund of funds ' and master fund strategy some rivals are pushing .
