    There is no optimum as it varies by scenario. Like many of these things you need a system you can live with and stick to when you enter the trade based on your analysis of the stock. The last thing you want to do it get caught up in hype and hold on when you should be selling down your position and taking some profits, take them and be happy you made a profit and stuck to the plan.

    The only optimal strategy is to sell the lot at the highest price. Everything else is suboptimal by choice to mitigate risk and/or suboptimal in error.

    invest in sydney and bitcoin.
    What could go wrong in either markets....
    better still, buy a 1 mil garage in sydney with bitcoins. Foolproof strategy.

    Issues with Bitcoin, they are not a financial product and does not provide any protection to investors.

    I don't think anyone speculating on Bitcoin is expecting any kind of protection....
