for those who enjoyed the wire, definitely one of my favourite shows of all time, I'd recommend checking out the corner. short 4 part or so mini series by the same people, also set in Baltimore.

Yeah they are short series. Leave you wanting more. A bit like the original Office series. It is a fine art i think knowing to quit when you are ahead. something the US shows should learn from I think!

Appealed to both me and my male housemate:
    Shameless (US version)
    Call the Midwife
How to get away with murder
Anzac girls (about the nurses of WW1 - i'm not into historical dramas but this was interesting)

    Just me
    Jane the Virgin
    Devious Maids
    Grey's Anatomy

    Just him
    Flash
    Arrow
    The Sopranos

This is about the only one I like out of that list.
Most of the rest are too typical/mainstream for me. Especially that How to Get Away With Murder nonsense. Overhyped.

On the other hand I enjoy GOT and Vikings, along with several others, though find The Walking Dead boring and Wayward Pines a bit off key

Z Nation (hence my name Murphy)
    Vikings
    Wentworth
    The 100
    Breaking Bad
    The Left overs
    Big Love
    Orange New Black
Not so keen on The Game of Thrones - too many players and gets complicated

Yeah, I tried to get into Vikings, but it didn't make much sense with his mate/brother cracking onto his missus and eventually being talked into betraying him by some other guy.

I found Longmire was just stock standard stuff. It rated 8.2 on IMDB. It was ok but not great.

I don't think the mentalist has been mentioned here. Simon Baker is absolutely brilliant in it.

    Really?
I think Ben Mendehlsohn was meant to be painful to watch.

I'm so disappointed in Outlander (SPOILER ALERT), it had such great potential. The wedding episode was the worst hour of soft core porn I've ever suffered to watch. I'm going to produce it the way it should have been done.

1940s couple, wife goes back in time.

She then "invents" a load of cool **** every time the locals have a problem.

Travels around blowing peoples minds doing cool stuff.

    Would be rad.
