If you like the Wire, Bosch is a great show too. 7 seasons too. Based on books by Michael Connelly. Also, Ozarks.

Just lost a large chunk of my weekend (and sleep! ).....

There's 4 parts (seasons) and am halfway thru 3 already

Sure it is dubbed into English, but it is well done and you don't tend to notice too often.

The budget has clearly improved since the first season, and the show just keeps building

It glorifies theft, but the story is really about how everybody needs a family, even if they're a disjointed bunch of strangers with serious issues o_O

Move over Breaking Bad, this is better :p

*edit, damn, went back 3 pages and didn't see it mentioned........... thanks Geoff

It's been mentioned a number of times - so it must be well worth watching.eg
Apparently they redubbed into English because it became so popular in English speaking countries.
Netflix Wants to Make Its Dubbed Foreign Shows Less Dubby

When Mad Max was dubbed he became Sir Mad Max.

It was dubbed originally, and then the show become so popular with so many complaints that it was redubbed last year. Though I have no idea how the dubbing went. I never worry about dubbing, especially with Spanish speaking series.
Money Heist dubbing: Is Money Heist dubbed? Should I watch Money Heist dubbed?

We watched Schtisel recently, which is in Hebrew and Yiddish. My wife couldn't keep up with the subtitles, so I changed the subtitle language on the main tv to Spanish, and watched it with English subtitles on my tablet. It worked well once I was able to sync them together.

We enjoyed Schtisel. It's a sort of Israeli soap opera, set amongst one of the orthodox communities in Jerusalem - but not the most orthodox. There are two series on Netflix, a third one is planned but was interrupted by Covid-19.

    It rates 8.7 on IMDb.

    Here's my IMDb review

We recently binge-watched Money Heist over two weeks. I agree with one of the commentaries online that points out the second heist goes beyond the Robin-hood good guys themes to a ridiculous plot and gratuitous violence. I get turned off when a great story-line goes downhill because the producers want to throw in every sub-plot and social commentary they can think of.

I would not have liked to wait several months for the second half of the first heist. @geoffw and @Stoffo , what did you think of parts 3 and 4?

I couldn't get into part 3. We were a couple of episodes in, but didn't get any further - which is perhaps a little unfair to any series.

I found Money Heist to lose some of it's artistry to action/violence, particularly by 4.

You can still see the finesse even if it's buried behind gunfire, it all just got busier.

The early heist almost glorified doing the wrong thing, whilst by series 4 it show's just how messy it likely is and the ultimate price/consequences that can result.

The show builds each series and leaves you with a cliff hanger.

Hope they take the time with series 5 to bring it back to a smaller group with more detail and backstory.

I just finished the Epstein series on Netflix - it was amazing how he used this wealth exploit young girls and then get out of going to gaol - actually he did 18 months i think but was on work release for 12 hours per day 6 days per week with himself funding the payment of prison offices to oversee him.

Amazing how successful that POS was at evading justice. Makes me think he had a lot of blackmail material on people in various levels of power.
