If you've never watched space shows , outside the obvious ones like Star trek , Star gate ( Star Gate Atlantis is the best of the series IMHO ) and the new Lost in Space ( VVG ) ,
Dark matter , Kill Joys and Firefly ( alas only one series but a must see for any space junkies ) are worthwhile dipping into .

Just watched the final episode last night. Hands down one of the best miniseries ever written.

Unfortunately it's on HBO, so I don't get to see it yet.

It's become the highest rating title ever on IMDB, knocking Planet Earth II into second place.

This show just gets better and better with each season, so well cast too :).

Yes, Designated Survivor has evolved from a totally implausible premise to a more reasonable political show. Though the premise of a centrist president and candidate is perhaps only really feasible through a catastrophe - I can't see it ever happening in real life.

Totally implausible ?? ... remember the other plane that went down at 911 was flying at the capitol building ... and supposedly Bin Ladin got his idea from Tom Clancy's book Debt of Honour

The interesting thing about there show is how many of the characters are also "survivors " , so the title doesn't just apply to the main lead .

Perhaps it's partially plausible that a terrorist bombing destroys the Capitol with a lot of inside help. It's far more implausible that the politician in charge of a minor department becomes a totally reasonable, capable and likeable president in the middle of such a disaster.

Series 3 is due to show from next week. The first two parts were excellent, although the story line starting in series 1 was finished at the end of series 2, so it will be interesting to see how they take the story further.

I've just watched the first episode of Wellington Paranormal on SBS. It was really rather good, very funny, a mockumentary set in Wellington, New Zealand.

I've mentioned the series What We Do in the Shadows before. That was a US series, based on a NZ movie of the same name (I haven't found a version of that I can stream - the series I could stream from BBC using a VPN). The Wellington Paranormal series is apparently a spinoff of the Shadows movie.

    Currently watching "Dope" on Netflix.
3 seasons, fly on the wall look at both sides of the war on drugs and the drug epidemic in the USA.
Shocking, sad, sometimes graphic and raw - but morbidly addictive.
    Unbelievable how some people live.
I recommend watching it with the subtitles turned on, because some of the gangbangers and street people are hard to understand at times.
