I was really iffy on this after watching Season 3, which was terrible, but they have really stepped it up in the last two seasons.

Not sure if it has been posted yet, but I recommend Rick and Morty. It's an adult cartoon that is by far the funniest series on telly for a very very long time.

Be warned, though. This is not for the easily offended.

The Fall- unmissable serial killer vs detective story. Gillian Anderson from The X Files is excellent :)

    What's that about Gillian Anderson?

Speaking of which, she makes a guest appearance in American Gods. Not completely sold on the series, but taking Neil Gaiman to film is always going to be a tough ask.

I liked El Chapo. Showing him before he got really big. The corruption in Mexican politics is incredible. The party in power was elected in1929 and held power continuously until 2000 - you don't get that with a fairly elected democratic government. They are back in power again.

Back on topic. Orange is the New Black got a lot better after the first episode. I enjoyed it despite my initial doubts. It focuses more on the whole team, not just Piper.

Tried to get into both but could not do it.

Interesting, I actually watched the doc on El Chapo, now this was brilliant stuff.

If that was this one, it rated the worst of anything I've seen on IMDB (3.3):
Chapo: el escape del siglo (2016) - IMDb

Both shows are slow. It takes a bit to get into, and I can understand that many people won't get into it.

It looks as if he's going to sue Netflix. The show must have got close to the mark:

    This was a gold mine.
    Thanks for posting.

Bored to Death - sux that they did not make more seasons.
Baskets - never heard of it until you posted this. awesome show.
Last Man on Earth - never heard of it either. couldn't get enough of the first 2 seasons. third was pretty terrible.
Blunt Talk - never heard of it before. also unreal. need more seasons.
Peep Show - watched it all before. awesome series.

Freaks and Geeks - saw it before. not bad.
The Grinder - never heard of it. not bad. don't find it binge-worthy though.

I also really liked West World but I think you said you couldn't get into it. I think I started liking it more a few episodes in and liked it more as the season went on.

Making a murderer .. yea not long before I found your post I watched it .. and yea I binged on the whole lot in 2 days. Hard show to digest though. They spend all their time trying to show he is innocent while mention only in passing that he doused a cat in petrol and lit it up. Left out that he molested kids in his own family including his nephew. Left out other evidence for the new conviction showing that he almost certainly did it. Tough situation to contemplate on the previous conviction - the cops planted evidence in the first conviction, but it helped society by keeping a psychopath whackjob off the streets for 20 years. Blurs the previously clear cut idea that planting evidence is always a bad thing to do..

    Anyway, thanks again for posting.

I see a quite old Australian series is being shown on Netflix. Power Without Glory was made in 1976, and is the story of the rise to power of John Wren, and based on a novel by Frank Hardy. John Wren, in the story, was an underbelly character who grew in power to the point where he had a great deal of control over politics, gambling, and even the church. The novel was the subject of a criminal libel action, for which the author was found not guilty. Despite being a very thinly disguised real life story, it was ruled that it was in fact a mixture of fact and fiction.

I remember reading the book before the series came out, then trying very hard, in the days before video recorders, to come home to watch it. I can't remember how many episodes I would have missed - it was my first year without study and with money.
