    Fantastic looking bird.

    Any reason for it showing up? El nino. CIimate Change? Fires?

    Substitute for KFC chicken as they are having supply issues. :p

    Suitable fit - Bin Chicken for dirty bird.

    I assume it felt like creating a stir. I've never seen or heard one in Sydney though they are in all states & not endangered. They eat small birds.

    The three we saw in our tree were too high to photograph & heavily back-lit. When any others came near, they squawked them off & the others went back to roosting in nearby trees.

    I hope they hang around for a while.

    Yesterday's & today's visitor is a Koel aka Channel-billed Cukcoo (nicknamed Kevin). It's parent is a currawong - which is still being run ragged trying to keep up the feed.

    Noisy thing when it starts at 5am.
