I'll make a sweeping observation here:

Is that the rarely seen White Tailed Green Brush (Lt: Sweepus Underder Carpet) perched precariously on the scaffolding?

I've always loved Tawny Frogmouths and their distinctive call.

We haven't had any around here in a while - but they've been here in the past.

At the moment I've got "Gail" (or is it "Gale"? I must ask my daughter to confirm how she spells the name) the young Grey Butcherbird - who has discovered that there is often food around inside our kitchen - so has started coming right in onto the benches and helping herself.

As such, we've had to start keeping the kitchen window closed - but she still comes and visits us while we're working in the kitchen.

I know that the competition is well and truly over but we discovered a gorgeous bird (annoying as with its constant squeaky wheel type call).

It's a Collared Sparrowhawk. We've never seen one in Sydney before and today we spotted a whole family in our tree and surrounding yards - probably 4 or 5 of them.
