E.g. a billboard on a bridge, or some random wall that's public space - who do I contact to advertise there? Council?

I would have thought the billboard company. They then organise the leases with Council etc.
Unless of course, you are setting up your own billboard company?

Yes they usually have a name on the edge of the billboard

Thanks - yes those are obvious e.g. Oooh and APN. But there are also heaps with absolutely no tag or name on the border. What's the deal with those?

Maybe a private direct rental. We have recent experience with GOA and they are organising all of the permits / leases / structure etc.

Thanks can you elaborate on what is a private direct rental? THe spaces I'm interested in are public spaces, so would one approach the local council directly? Does this happen often? (i.e. council directly leases to an individual)

Could be council, RMS, transport or utilities/public Authority.

The example I am thinking of is where a sporting club leases out signage or billboard space at their grounds - either on the sideline or externally facing. Direct between whoever owns or controls the space and the client, not through a billboard company.
