I was up at 5:30am listening to Macca on the ABC before heading up the mountains for a bushwalk.

Macca interviewed Bill Moss, who is the former head of Banking and Property and Macquarie Bank. He retired in 2007 due to illness ( muscular dystrophy ).

During the interview, Macca asked for Bill's thoughts on the "housing bubble".

Essentially he was saying that much of the activity in the property market is due to wealthy migrants that are able to buy their residency and hence this is creating increased demand in the market.

It's worth a listen. You will be able to listen to it via the ABC website for a week or so only.

18 mins 16 secs - start of the interview
20 mins 32 secs - Bill's thoughts on the Housing Bubble

( edit - a bit of a fiddle to listen to if you have a Mac - I cheated and used windows media player via Windows under Parallels )
