So we need an R60 zoning in order to build multiple dwellings from here on out?

Does this mean it's just back to grouped dwellings or are there still more "creative" ways to develop on sites under R60?

Explains why so many sites in Scarborough have quickly gone to construction after sitting stagnant for so many years.

You can still do multi units outside of City of Stirling at R40 and above but they are to have more parking bays than before and generally they would prefer that they are located in areas near infrastructure. The 3 month transition period has finished and these changes were all announced 3mths ago.

City of Stirling finally won their case to ban them altogether under R60, everyone who had a site under R60 has been getting their DAs through during the past year when CoS announced it was happening so I don't think there should be anyone surprised and left with an unviable deal.

Some clarification regarding the Stirling TPS amendment. It should not be read as banning "multiple dwellings under R60", but read as banning MD for R40. I can understand the confusion as it started off with the initial amendment title having the words under R60.

Big difference! I had a sleepless night thinking R50 MD was banned

I've confirmed the above info with a phone call to council.

Close to transport - yes (ie 800m radius to train station / 250m to bus route)

Away from transport - 1.25 bays (so 5 bays for every 4 apartments)

    thank god!

it was originally porposed at any zoning under R60 (ala South Perth).

R40 - can deal with that.
