I didn't catch much of the episode but I saw them building a granny flat on last week's show (or the week before?). It looked ok from what I saw. Total cost was less than $50k, which seemed quite reasonable.

Are they building it for less than $50,000 or fitting it out for less than $50,000?

I had to look up that answer to that one. The whole project budget was $50,000 but there is a catch, they started with a shipping container.

Build a complete granny flat for less than $50,000
