It's basically a meatloaf roll with cheese, ham and spinach, wrapped in bacon.

I like the idea - could work with a few modifications. I don't think it needs both ham and bacon (unless the ham is more there for structure than taste). I would probably put some onion in it too.

An easy favourite of mine which is like nachos without the chips:

    20170618_163637.jpg
    - Mince (chicken or beef) with taco seasoning cooked
    - cheese
    - salsa (I find the coles brand to be the lowest carb and tastiest too)
    - sour cream

I think that's cheese on the bottom.

My bolognaise is a bit like this - a little bit salsa-ish (minus the taco seasoning), and I just douse it with cheese and tuck in. Haven't tried adding sour cream to it - that would help increase the fat content (although also adds some carbs).

Yeah, cheese. Mince at the bottom with bucket loads of mozerella on top. I layer it on so there's some melty stuff over the mince then put the cold salsa and sour cream on top so not all the cheese melts. Cheese textures two ways :D

    @Simon Hampel

I cheat and just use a stock cube in a mug of hot water.

I did get this recipe provided to me to make stock in a Breville BPR700 slow/pressure cooker but I've not had the chance or need to try it as yet:

I normally buy two or three little packets of organic neck bones from the Whangarei growers market, pop them in the Breville and add water to cover the bones. The setting is on stock and on low setting and do that for around 48 hrs. then pour broth through a sieve into glass jars - let them cool down - move to fridge - then when they well chilled to the freezer - Don't fill bottles to much and don't screw lids on tight or else you're sure to crack a bottle as the broth rises as it freezes. I then take a bottle as needed defrost and warm up to drink. Straight forward - sometimes I ask for a few marrow bones for fun - My wife and I like occasional marrow. That's it!

The other technique for keeping up your salt levels is to mix 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt, 1/4 teaspoon of lite salt and 1 tablespoon of Epsom salts in around 750ml of water. You might need a dash of sugar free cordial to hide the salty taste.

I know if I'm not getting enough salt I'll often get headaches.

What about Miso soup which is easy instant. Salty but unsure about the carbs.

I make my own chicken stock and freeze in batches and other defrost and use as soup base.

One for the brains trusts - low carb meal ideas that don't require ingredients out of a fridge?

We're going camping in a couple of weeks time for longer than we usually go and only have an esky at the moment so will be able to have cold stuff for the first few days but not after that.

Trying to think of different meal ideas but keep coming back to high carb stuff like bread, pasta, cous cous etc so will welcome anything that is not jam packed full of carbs.

@Kinnon Bell is hiring a WAECO an option?
    1. Bacon, mince, butter, cheese, pork shoulder for your esky
    2. Eggs
    3. Cabbage, broccoli for some vegies
    4. macadamia nuts
    5. coconut oil
    6. tinned salmon/tuna
Meal options include salmon or mince mess (eggs + salmon/mince), bacon and eggs, pork roast + vegetables.

Not really. We don't have the dual battery / solar / inverter set up yet and the deep cycle battery will be used for the boat so esky it is! A portable fridge is on the 'to buy' list but not at the top at the moment!

    Thanks for the ideas!

    Hey Guys
I can recommend this burger, Woolworths, if you are a fan of spicy, you will love this only 2 carbs, 100 grams. I had 2 of these, on a bed of rocket, peppery very nice
