This is my all time favorite, i have heard this played at weddings,funerals,21st birthday parties, never gets old and everyone would see something of themselves in it.

Best band, probably Iron Maiden - Sydney (Acer Arena or whatever it was called back then) - 2008
Not a band per say but saw Tommy Emmanuel at the Opera House a month ago, was absolutely brilliant.

Airbourne by miles. And I've seen ~500 live shows*

I've seen them a number of times but the most memorably show was years ago in Mona Vale. Tight, energetic and entertaining like you would not believe. Guitarist jumped off stage, playing a solo, went to the bar, poured himself a schooner, sculled it, poured another and went back on stage all the while playing a solo (one handed when necessary).

Couple of years later this happened..:

    It was raining btw.

I also recall seeing them open for Motorhead at The Enmore and noticed my fav song wasn't on the set list. Between songs the guitarist/vocalist said "This next song is" (at which point I yelled my favourite song out). He glanced at his bandmates and said "This next song is <the one I yelled out>". Very accommodating.

*I used to have a music website, write/photograph for some magazines etc and had a record label/online store so I had free entry to everything I ever wanted to see.

    Ditto.

Not a fan of stadium gigs - better to just put on a DVD or CD.

Uncle Nick being supported by his Bad Seeds at the Enmore.

We also sat next to Tim Freidman (of the Whitlams) at that gig.

Saw them at the Big Day Out once at the recommendation of a friend, very glad I did. Les Claypool was amazing.

This is a thread for bands, you know, actual musicians that play actual music. Not some dude standing behind some decks like a human jukebox.

There's too many to choose from. Top ones would have to be:

INXS - Sydney Entertainment Centre, 1988 (and I've still got the program!)
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Festival Hall (Brisbane), October 1992
Eddie Vedder (lead from Pearl Jam) - acoustic gig at QPAC, early 2014 (went for almost 3 hours!)

While I still get to go and see my own 'faves' (this year, it's already been Chet Faker, London Grammar, and off to see Tame Impala soon), it's now as much about taking the rug-rat off to see her idols (so I've also had to be the chaperon to Taylor Swift and Katy Perry ).

Hey, life would be boring if we all liked the same stuff, right?
