Tripadvisor reveals world's best airlines for 2019

I fly Qatar, business class.... the best... I have mentioned the secret when flying BC on another thread, you don't need to pay the BIG $ when flying Qatar.... I upgrade for $1.000. always

Sadly.....BC is not equal.. dependent on the airline, for example Qantas BC does not come close to Qatar BC.

Got upgraded for free to business class on Singapore airlines coming back from Australia a few months ago, it was great, completely flat bed. For me though it's not just the airline that makes SIA the best, it's the stopover to change planes, nothing comes remotely close to Changi airport.

I've been upgraded for free to BC many times on different airlines, key is to dress smart, travel alone, and be in their FF scheme. Also volunteering to be bumped helps.

    Hey MTR,

I saw your thread a while ago and just checked it out again regarding Qatar BC 'trick' as I am looking at flying to the UK late September.

Is it just as simple as booking economy then asking to change?

You are depending on business class not being full.

Hubby needs business class for long flights for health reasons. So this is not an option for us as we can’t take the risk of no available BC seats at check in.

    Garuda Business Class is excellent

Korean Air Business Class is excellent

Qantas Business Class is excellent when compared to economy, but it is not at the level of Garuda or Korean Air.

I haven't flown Qatar. I'm told it's first class ( excuse the pun)

Curious...does it matter which avenue you book... as in direct through Qatar website or through a travel agent?

Or type of fare you purchase as in full price economy or sale fare, etc?

Emirates would be the one for long trips, all you do is sign up and about 4 week before takeoff they will send you prices for business class then lower offers one week before.

Virgin for short 4-6 hour flights ,they have the same system you just bid on a scale a few weeks before take-off
but depending on the plane their business class is very different from Emirates ..imho..

The best airline is the one with the highest probability of getting me to my destination with all parts intact. Service and perks are a distant 2nd.

I would also add that attractiveness of air hostesses are fairly high up on the list...
I mean..it might sound shallow, but im pretty sure yhat there would be a direct and fairly strong relationship between ticket sales and hostess hotness.
Sure I'm basing on anecdotal and observations..but it wouldn't be hard to imagine this yo be true.
Not long ago, the CEO of Qatar airways was bragging how his hosties are average age of 26 (And all the 'assets' they would bring with that...)...he did withdraw his remarks though but you just know he meant it.

Actually, something I noticed the last time I flew Qantas was the diversity of the flight attendants - gender, age, ethnic origin and body shape. The service was excellent, when it was required - on a long flight, they are much more often than not, out of sight. Attractiveness of attendants doesn't rate highly on my requirements for a good flight.

The young attractive flight attendants are generally very well made up, with every single hair in place. The female ones too. I find that too artificial.

Oh wow. Are airlines likely to charge you separately for your left leg and right leg?
