Benefits of a backyard bungalow?

    Hi, came across this house in Reservoir, VIC that has self contained bungalow/granny flat built into the backyard.

    What are your thoughts on the benefits of this sort of bungalow? Would you need to rent it out or have it on airbnb to make the full use of it? What does that do for CGT when it comes time to sell?

    If we buy it but don't get a lot of use out it other than for family visitors is it a waste. Or still worth it to add value to the property.
