Before , lovely pink walls and yellow cupboards. Benchtop was a black chipboard with a blue vinyl top :

Bought a name brand (Farquhar) kitchen second hand off Gumtree. This involved dismantling out of their place and putting it on their lawn:

And then packing it all into one of these:

    Then demolished ours;

    Then built new one :

900mm stainless steel oven/stove was from Gumtree too. Guarantee no one else in this suburb has one. Prob worth more than the house :p

3 days involved so far in picking up other one, demolishing and installing ours.

Still need to add kickboards, splashback and dishwasher and get old taps removed.

This is part of a whole house Reno, so will post after photo and rest of the house photos and costings later on when it's done.

And big thanks to @DaveM for helping!

Installing kitchens in old houses where nothing is square is fun :p

Amazing what you can find on Gumtree, its my favourite place for cheap kitchens for low end renos

    Great bargain hunting!
Is it a pain pulling out the gumtree kitchen? Do the owners help you?
Find any surprises or body parts?

Was good bargain hunting, $700 for the kitchen (included cupboards, laminate top and rangehood under the overheads) and $500 for the 900mm stainless steel upright oven/stove. No bonus body parts though :/

DaveM helped pull the other one out of their house, the owner did help too. It was a bit tricky (I'm not really very handy), but most of the work was in carrying it all out to the van.

What do they just put in a new kitchen each month? ? Keep them in speed dial ;)
When pulling stuff apart to salvage it would be hard to resist the urge to take a sledge hammer to it :p

Nah they were just doing big extension and their new kitchen was in their new section of the house. I got my demolition fix out of the one I replaced ;)

Haven't had time to go finish it lately between running my business and working on 2 other properties.

In the same house this thread is about, just had a wall built by a builder to divide rumpus in half to create a 4th bedroom.

Removing a couple of blades from the ceiling fan was an ingenious idea, fits perfectly ;)

    Kitchen Reno looks great btw

My idea was actually for the builder to leave a 5cm tall gap at the top so that the fan could still spin :p

Nah, i have an electrician relocating it of course, and adding a light to the newly created room

Blue benchtop, I know it was a thrifty purchase, but for an additional $4-500 I would have got a lighter coloured Cesarstone faux type benchtop..
