Before you answer the call-up,and i think 6-12 months trying to sell RE would set a person up for life as in they would never get done over by a slick sales person again,i did it for about 9 months in the early 1990's very hard work, but they sacked me when the then boss who's wife came in looking for him,was out showing the new stunning sales Lady a new listing and putting up the for sales signs a letter box drop the streets, his "wife" turns up at the new listing, both are inside the house and they never locked the front door, and that's when the mobile system in phones were just starting, they were called bricks those phones,i think that's what she hit him with before he sacked me..

I am guessing the course would be hard though?

Lesson1 - How to list an ad on real estate websites
Lesson 2 - How to wait for someone to contact you and hopefully put in a bid.
Lesson 3 - The type of cars REA's drive.

@willair , you were the scapegoat in that incident. Totally innocent. A victim of a philandering boss who expected you to somehow cover for him.

Of course these days with our phones I would have filmed the dirty old bugger and then used the evidence as leverage....to get me lined up with these women lol lol.

It's a real eyeopener trying to sell real estate Datto, the only problem is there is a dark side to real estate sales, one of the first properties i bough was what the realestate company that i purchased from called the springboard ,they would take you to several properties after you let it slip how much money you had to play with, the springboard was on the list when they were trying to sell you something more costly only problem was i was the only person to get out of the car and inbetween all the burnt out cars and rubbish walk up the top of the hill and have a look,i bought that property that day went too the bank pay the deposit, then bought a bottle of rum for the salesperson, problem was when i went into the office the staff were all out the back boss going off his head at the saleperson for selling the property that they all used for years to sell better looking properties, but i was not that street smart back then and trusted what people told me..

It ended well 7 years later, but inbetween the local council extended the limits for the huge dam they wanted to build be in that area,i bought a small side of tambourine mountain that i thought and everyone told me would overlook the entire dam with a road in and out that was the startup plan, with the new land grabs they wanted rezone the property to pay me out and buy the property, that's after i built dams shed to work from fenced the property ,i never sold out too the QLD Goverment 5 years into holding they stopped the dam ,prices started to rise again very quickly, once the dust had settled i sold out that area now is a massive mini outliner city..imho..

I agree with this. Unfortunately there is a lot of lying going on.

Great seeing this old thread that just popped up from 2015 and seeing what I was thinking back then.

Update for anyone interested, Still loving my role as a sales agent, took a while to find my feet as I had trouble asking the hard questions "do you want to sell" I would always tip toe around it and miss opportunities.

I've been going really well this year, on track to beat my 2015 Year to date salary as a plumber by 20k. Looking forward to looking back on this in another 1 years time.

My biggest problem when working in an RE agency was with the Licensee's who would do anything to cheat their sales staff out of their commission, you had to read very carefully the agreement you signed with the Licencee before beginning work.

7 weeks sounds like the RETC one? If so, plus an absolute mountain of external assignments :p
