Its far easier and sit back, chill out and not judge and take the positive from the forum,

LOL, but we are then talking about personalities and perceptions and nothing to do with quality of posts.

I take posts at face value. It doesn't worry me too much if they are "true" or not, so to speak. Some interesting discussions have come about because someone posted something that ended up being basically a troll post.

What gets me is people who send money to strangers. A guy on the news last night had sent $350,000 to a scammer overseas. Supposedly some of the money was for university fees and airline tickets. An obvious solution here would have been for him to pay the money directly to the university or buy the airline tickets. It's interesting. People must have a very different tolerance to cash than I do. By $30, I would think I am being scammed. But at $300,000, he didn't know?

Funny (not haha) I thought there was a bit less of that now. Some posters seem to have re-invented themselves for the better (unrecognisable in some cases) and there seems to be less bigotry and fewer old (and young) buzzards.

Beibg yourself means putting yourself out there, being a real person and not hiding the fact that you are not perfect.

I was listening to him being interviewed on ABC yesterday morning, he thought it was love and he knew something was not right, went on for 2 years...... but he was in denial. That's a sh$t load of money.

It could be worse, I think 12-18 months ago an elderly lady from Perth was scammed by a much younger guy in Africa, she fly over and never came back, they believe she was murdered.

Think it boils down to the question we all ask ourselves whilst looking in the mirror-

Do you like the person who is looking back at you?

For me it's a yes most of the time and I don't feel the need to expand the truth as I am who I am and that's it.

For those that feel the need to BS on the forum don't worry about the "Joneses" just be happy within yourself..

Being yourself is easy. Pretending to be someone you're not and keeping the pretence (and web of lies) going is just too much hard yakka :D
I second @MTR's words....take the positive from the forum. We're all here to learn, contribute and communicate in a like-minded online forum.

This is the bit that interests me... "he knew something was not right"... yet he kept sending money? o_O I have been in situations where I felt uncomfortable and got out right then.

You are right that is a much worse outcome. Tragic :(
