I recently looked at a one bedroom apartment and the bathroom had no door, not sure if it had one at one point or was built that way, but just wondering what the cost would be to put one in, the gap is also larger than a door, so some wall may need to be built I guess, unless there are other options such as a sliding door? Any ideas?

Hard to say without knowing the size and if there are door jams or not. If there are no jams a sliding door door may be easier/cheaper, again depending on the width of the opening.

I have big opening with our PPOR when we bought, and I installed bi-fold with glass. Everyone said it looks beautiful :)

As long as you have the room for the sliding door that's the option I'd go with, a swing door would be custom sized or build in the wall - too expensive. :)

Your only other option is a blind of some description really but fabric would have issues with moisture and mould, would have a very long life before needing replacing and people would crash through them all the time! :)

I don't quite fancy taking a break behind a curtain with a room full of visitors in the house.

Bunnies sell a cheap concertina door which can be trimmed/expanded to fit the opening.

I wouldn't fancy having a blind of any description for so many reasons!! :) The only problem with those concertina doors is that if it's going to be an IP and there are tenants in the property..... well, most tenants can barely handle a swing door without breaking something!!! :)

It's a one bedder, barely enough room to swing a cat, let alone a door.

I dont think the bathroom is open to the Visitors, given that it is a one-bedroom apartment, not a studio? The developer would not build an apartment with open bathroom facing the lounge I would have thought........I am intrigued now. Can @Alex123711 share the layout plan?

Hmmm, should we settle on a goldfish and sliding door?

That's a very good point! I must admit, I'm just picturing a bathroom with a large opening onto the living area myself.

It doesn't have a floorplan, but the toilet/ bathroom faces straight into the kitchen/ living area!

Thanks for the link, the bunnings sliding door looks like a great cheap option, however I don't think it would be quite wide enough, unless I could put 2 together?

There are extra door panels/sections which you can purchase.

To save me from getting too imaginative, perhaps a photo would help?
    A picture speaks a thousand words....:D

Fantastic opportunity. Very quick in case of food poisoning. I wouldn’t install the door at all and reduce efficiency of running into the toilet after feeding the guests those 100 year old aged beef stakes.
