Doing bathroom renovation and got a quote for the glass panel (walk in shower, one 900 x 2000mm panel) - Costed at $975 incl. GST supply and install. Is this reasonable? From a supplier recommended by the builder as it includes warranty.

Can source a ready made glass panel for $300 excluding install (though I'm not sure whether it will 'explode' like one that I heard)

Ask highgrove or those type of cheap suppliers recommendations on installers. Our installers charge $250
    The glass costs us $195

They only would explode if the exposed edge is tapped or chipped by impact during installation usually. I've only ever had it explode when it's been knocked or dropped during installation

I had this same size glass installed in my shower and the price was pretty similar.

Ask them for an off the shelf piece of glass

@EN710 it depends on what you actually need but if this is close all why they aren't getting this. Custom order glass will cost what you've been quoted but if they are getting it from bunnings they're looking to make a tidy profit ;)

glass is $239 and thats retail not wholesale

Have a look on there, if there is one near you call them and ask for a list of their local installer guys.

If the installer breaks it, they have to replace it. Unless they can prove that the manufacturer is at fault. I wouldn't worry as the installers install them daily and would know how to work with them the chances of them breaking one would be slim.

I smashed a panel to fit it in the recycle bin. Took a fair hit with a hammer to shatter it.
    I had fun :D

Framed shower screen in Brisbane cost me $500 fully installed.

    Semi framed are $800 plus

Obriens are quite cheap as well
