    Just a small doubt

I have liked a townhouse in North Balwyn that is within the Balwyn High school zone as per the website of the school

However, it is not the nearest high school to the property

Will My children still be eligible to get admission in the Blawyn High school although it is not the nearest high school?

    Cheers

Generally being within the zone means your children will get in.

Why not call the school and check?

as long as you are in the zone - yes

though the zone can change. GWSC changed their zone and some properties that were in the zone were not anymore.

I will do that on Monday

I was not sure if the school would answer the question , when it’s not admission season and I am still not a resident of the zone

    Cheers

They will give you an indication, the caveat will be the zones can change and they won’t provide any certainty until the year you attempt to enroll your child, because a number of factors (not just the zone) can mean things change year to year.

Being in the zone really just means you have certainty at this point in time.

@James Baker - Are you in the nearer School's catchment area?

Is the school selective? Ie kids need to pass entry exams to gain entry regardless of where they live?

Is the school single sex - kid won't get in unless they pass the pants test?
