Hi everyone, I am another long time lurker on SS and Prop. Chat and have finally decided to open up about my experience with investing. I am mid 40's although look much younger;) and have lost everything including my marriage due to bad investing choices, still luckily I am a positive person, so don't believe in being dragged down by the bad experiences i have had.......life will go on and I'm sure it will be awesome:D just wanted people to be aware of how wrong things can go with bad advice from people who shouldn't be giving advice:mad: look forward to chatting..........

You certainly aren't alone there - there are a few similar stories around here.

Let me guess - mining towns?

No nothing but inexperience and putting trust in a mortgage broker who is a very seasoned investor.

So many wrong decisions that led to this outcome, as I said to Jess we bought new as we thought that would be best maintainance/tax wise etc but paid too much and lost everything we have worked for

Thanks Dark Night, I think everything happens for a reason (yet to figure out the reason) Despite everything I know that property done the right way is still the way to go.

If we need to be wary of this, should we put our trust in a broker who is NOT a seasoned investor?
