and according to demand. If the demand is there for BC then airlines will fly there.

If it has no curfew then I see that as a big advantage over KS.

For the sake of humanity give it a real name. Not Badgerys Creek airport, or Sydney West. Name it after a noted dead person. I propose myself.

I don't have any strong views on BC but agree that the airport has to be named after someone really famous, a New Southwelshman.

The problem with building rail to it at openining is the demand just wont be there. Your committing billions, where there are so many other worthy projects standing in front of it.

True. The sydney airport link was only completed early 2000's

Just set up some temporary uber stands and the punters will work it out

That's more of a life choice. Gub can't help you with that one

Northern road upgrade is also starting too so they seem to have bases covered. Poor gub being picked on by the naysayers :(

Even a fast food shop which employs locals is seen as no good in BMC.
The mood of Blacktown has changed substantially over the last 10 years - appears to be less opposition.

The lowest sections of flight paths are over sparsely populated areas (BC 0.45 people/ha) and rising over mostly industrial zones vs KSA which is over densely populated Sydney suburbs. Pop Density - BC

Why would Blacktown council be happy about the airport?

That's the reason to be unhappy about the airport. I can't see why a council that is not directly impacted economically by the airport would be anything but unhappy about it, especially if there are flight paths proposed above its airspace.

Flights paths are a necessary evil. Ultimately the airport will spread the population and future growth better, plus bring in more people

Council's need to work in and get the best outcomes they can for their area (not the area they actually live in:p )

In the end, welcome to good old Australian NIMBYism. Whinge whinge whinge. They'd whinge if the airport wasnt being built. They'll whinge if it is built.

Virgin added nothing much to the discussion just a generic comment about it being a big task

Baird said nothing about rail in your link. You realise it takes a long time to build big chunks of infrastructure don't you. Can't just magically get a train line built. This isn't Sim city
