Hi, can someone advise on the approx total cost (ATCO + tradie fees) for a new gas connection for a survey strata subdivision (two lot subdivision with an existing connection to the retained dwelling).

Is this something that is normally done by the plumber when they do the water/sewer connection clearance works?

    Thanks!

There is no requirement to do it at subdivision clearance time.
It is normally done during construction and there is no infrastructure cost to get a new gas connection - this is one of the reasons why people keep putting in gas vs going solar PV + electric appliances - as it's a no/low cost item.

Thanks @Westminster . I knew they were cheap to connect but never realised it was practically free!

Yup I believe that anything within 20m of the gas line is free, over 20m does have a charge but pretty sure you wouldn't be over 20m. Connecting Your Customer WA | Gas - Alinta Energy

Sorry for 'waking' a zombie thread, but I would be curious to hear people's opinions.

I'm subdividing and the new driveway and double carbay of Lot 1 will go right above where the current gas line is.

While not a clearance condition...Would you use the chance now, while everything is being dug up, to relocate and twin the gas line? I'm leaning towards yes?
