Satay-King,that's one item about age and the mistakes one makes but to be honest it would be a very complicated answer from when late may in 2001 when One.Tel went bust and all that's happened in-between..

"One.Tel" - keep holding. The market will see its value one day. Apologies for that comment if you got hit with that number.

    - and many more as well.

Just found the file i have on One.Tel from all those years ago..

I have several pages from when the then ceo ''JR'' told everyone they understood how the mobile phone and the internet will change the world and the lead ''JP'' investment wise as he was about to step into his Father's shoes paid ..
One can only picture standing in front of his entire executive team after it went belly-up after being given the freedom to make his own decisions, then have his famous father to pick up the tab..

If I've read it right, XJO hit a new peak (6887) before coming down slightly? Or have their been higher intra day peaks?

XJO peak at 6,893.700 on 29/11/2019
It has several attempt since to run past that peak but meet with pretty strong resistance
it failed 16, 17,18,19 of December to break new high then again today and failed.

The more time it failed the bigger the break out if it happens or a big drop ...
but low rate environment I say a break out to 7000 is more likely this year
    stake your bet :D

I bet on a run to 7022 when it does break out

I think we may have a new high today or next week, future market run to the highest level since it peaked at 6838 in November last year, it has many attempts since and never broke 6833 today just before close it run to 6834 bullish sign setup for XOJ to hit new high.

Future market usually trades at a discount to XJO but not always because of dividend, for our market around 50-60 pips depending on dividend calculation.

If rate was higher than dividend then it will trades at parity or premium to XJO

Yes it did ,but what i have found is it's better to watch the all ords index base that cover a wider base ..

The all ords index did break above the 7000 mark around lunch-time yesterday ,and going by overnight market's it may well break above that level this morning ,once above that level then who knows ..

All ordinary is not a reliable measure that why market instruments use XJO as all ordinary contain speculative microcap stocks that not accurately reflect the real market earning power

same with the US, they only use S&P 500 and the DOW 30 and NQ 100

So XJO closed at 6929, All Ords at 7041.

If this is of interest, you would already know this. If it's not of interest, then ignore. Either way this post adds no value ;-)

Growth investors rejoice at their climbing portfolio value! :)

Income focused investors grumble at the lower yields on offer. :(

Yes but no, no, no. We grumble not because of lower yields but because it costs more to obtain an income stream. Have you learnt naught young fella? :D

Tell me about it, this time last year 1000 argo shares cost me around $7,700 now the same parcel would cost around 9k for that 33cent dividend stream! Dam it!
